Bamar Sports Club

History

The Club de Pelota Bamar – Vallelado was founded in October 1987, competing in regional federated category and opting for the national promotion phase. Teamwork and spirit of sacrifice were the precursors that allowed us to move up in category every two or three years, reaching the Division of Honor in 1998, under the name of Club Deportivo Puertas Bamar.

At that time, our new competition venue was the fronton of our town (Íscar), finally covered in 1997. This casuistry, together with the emphasis of several Iscarians, made possible the creation of the frontenis section, currently having a great representation at regional level and more and more notoriety at national level.

Since then, we have incorporated to our ranks some of the best national and international players, showing our ambition and commitment to the club and allowing us to face the reputed pelota players from Navarre and the Basque Country, excellent in the execution of this game since their childhood.

Among these stories and many others, we have been proclaimed European Champions up to four times, Spanish Champions up to 17 times, we have a women’s team and we have one of the best frontenis quarries (80 children) with more talent at national level.

Breaking down barriers to communicate with the eyes

At Fundación Bamar we firmly believe in the power of communication as a tool for inclusion. That is why, when we learned of the commitment of the Alvar Fáñez de Íscar Public School to break down the communication barriers faced by some of its students, we did not hesitate to join their initiative.

The center had launched a project to facilitate the learning and expression of students with major motor challenges, and we decided to collaborate by donating a complete Quinera eye-reader kit, valued at 5,600 euros.

Thanks to this technology, students like Edy can communicate using only the movement of their eyes. An open door to language, to learning, to emotions and, in short, to the fundamental right to express oneself.

For the Bamar Foundation, these types of actions reinforce our conviction that a fairer and more accessible society begins by supporting the efforts of those who work every day for real inclusion in the educational environment.
